Adoration is like …
... the silent eye in the middle of the hurricane
Storms, tempests, thunderstorms, lightning out of the blue!
Do you know these phenomena in your life too? Vibrations of any kind. They can be violent and even life-threatening. They can also be everyday challenges and stressful situations.
And God is in the midst of them. “I am the Here-I-am” “Fear not!”
This is Moses’ experience with the holy, unapproachable God. (Cf. Ex 3:2)
And this is Mary’s experience with the God who becomes man in her. (Cf. Lk 1:30)
The same God has made himself present for us in the Eucharist.
The same God before whom I kneel in adoration also tells me: I am here. Do not be afraid.
Learning to smile in the middle of my storm or hurricane, like this child in the picture - because God is there, is there for me and loves me infinitely.
Become calm with the calm God.
Jesus, let us learn this smile in trust in you!
