It is difficult to take the following entry seriously, but it is part of the natural side of the shrine.
In a letter from Franz Lorscheid to Albert Eise of 19 August1919 (in which he expressed the opinion that the Sodality Day from 16-17 August 1919 had been a failure), he concluded by saying: “Finally let me tell you that the Mother Thrice Admirable now has a donation box in the shrine.”
